BB ("beauty balms") creams are the newest craze in the beauty world. They're multitasking, hydrating tinted moisturizers. At first there were only a few out on the market but now virtually every brand has their own version. Some brands (mainly drugstore) will only repackage their tinted moisturizer and sell it as a BB cream, so keep an eye out for formulation. I've compiled a collection of some of the best, from all different price ranges, that are good for all different skin types.
Clinique Age Defense BB cream- Best for sensitive skin, redness problems or acne. This has a medium coverage, is fragrance free, and has spf 30 in it.
Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream-Best for oily skin. Heavy coverage, long wearing, and matte finish. Stays on without needing to set with powder and covers any dark marks.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB-Best for normal skin. This is more of a tinted moisturizer formula, but is great for those who want less coverage. My personal favorite because it feels like you aren't wearing any makeup and it lasts very long. You may need to use concealer with this, as I do, but if you want lighter coverage, this is the way to go.
Iman Skin Tone Evener BB cream-Best for dark skin. Iman is a great line of cosmetics for women of color. They're line is targeted to get rid of uneven skin tone and dark marks, so it's fitting that they came out with a BB cream. Medium coverage, luminous finish, improves texture.
Bobbi Brown BB cream-Best coverage. If you want great coverage and a light feel that protects your skin, this is the one. It lightens dark spots after use for four weeks, has SPF 35, and you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face.
Estee Lauder DayWear BB cream-Best for dry skin. This BB cream has intense hydrators that will keep skin from flaking all day. Sheer, lightweight coverage, perfect for summer. One problem is that there are only two shades to choose from.
